Student Rights in the Conduct Process

To ensure a fair, educational, transparent, and community-centered process, students and student organizations involved in disciplinary or non-disciplinary proceedings are granted specific rights as respondents. A respondent is defined as a student or student organization accused of alleged misconduct. These rights are intended to facilitate respondents' understanding of the allegations, allow them to present their perspective, and encourage full participation in the scheduled proceedings:

  • The right to be informed of the alleged policy violation(s) by OSCCS or its designee 
  • The right to be heard and to present their perspective to OSCCS or its designee 
  • The right to receive advisement regarding the alleged policy violation(s) 
  • The right to provide contact information for any witness present before, during, or after the alleged incident to OSCCS or its designee 
  • The right to submit evidence to OSCCS or its designee
