Assistant Dean of Students

Assistant Dean Shawn Tremblay (he/him/his) joins us from Franklin, MA. Still, it is hard for Dean Tremblay to have a conversation without bringing up his love of Rhode Island, specifically his hometown of Pawtucket (the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution).

Dean Tremblay brings a background in Student Conduct, Title IX, Student Behavioral Assessment, 21+ Programming, and Residential Education to the OSCCS team. Most recently, Shawn served as the Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Student Concerns, where he also served as the Chair of the College’s CARE (Concern Assessment, Referral, and Education) Team to work with students experiencing temporary hardship in identifying ways to navigate institutional structures, available resources, or supportive measures. This advocacy for student support drives Dean Tremblay’s work, and he is excited to see it in action at Duke!

Dean Tremblay lives in Durham with his husband, and their Chihuahua mix, Abu. Dean Tremblay is excited to explore Durham's food and music scenes and always looks for local recommendations.
